Egypt's Suez Canal will be subject to a price increase in January 2024

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) of Egypt has announced that it will increase transit fees by 5-15% starting from January 15, 2024. Crude oil tankers, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers, and passenger ships will face a 15% increase. For bulk carriers, general cargo ships, and roll-on/roll-off ships, a 5% increase will be applied.

Container ships directly traveling from Northwest European ports to Far East ports may be exempted from the fee adjustment.
