Egypt and Saudi Arabia to cooperate on green energy

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aty met with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman. Abdel Aty emphasized the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with bilateral cooperation in the field of energy.

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Badr Abdel Aty met with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman on the sidelines of the Follow-up and Political Consultative Committee meeting in Riyadh. During the meeting, it was emphasized that the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries are strengthening, and the developments in cooperation, especially in the field of energy, are pleasing.

Minister Abdel Aty stated that Egypt aims to establish more strategic partnerships with Saudi Arabia, especially in the renewable energy sector. Abdel Aty emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with the opportunities offered by Egypt's strategic location and natural resources, stressing that the Egypt-Saudi Arabia electricity interconnection project is an example for energy integration in the Arab world. In this context, he expressed the two countries' readiness to cooperate in green hydrogen production and renewable energy projects.

The meeting expressed the need to increase the exchange of experience in energy efficiency, management of electricity consumption and new energy technologies. Abdel Aty noted that indigenization in the field of industry and technology and the development of cooperation in sectors such as automotive and industry are among the priority goals. He also called for new cooperation opportunities in the mining sector.
