According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), U.S. steel production for the week ended 21st January, 2023 was 1,620,000 tons, with production capacity at 72.5%. In the same week last year, U.S. steel production was 1,735,000 tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 79.8%.
Current production figures are down by 6.6% from last year and increase by 1.1% from the previous week. (1.602.000 tons, 71.7%)
