The system to be installed will be one of the largest water treatment plants Danieli has supplied to date.
The project will support the expansion of JSW Steel’s 4.5 million tons/year (MTPA) hot strip mill at Dolvi. The new water treatment unit will supply cooling water to the mill, caster, and tunnel furnaces involved in the thin slab casting and rolling processes.
The plant, with a total recirculation flow rate of approximately 58,000 m³/hour of cooling water, will rank among the largest applications carried out by Danieli due to its high capacity. The water treatment plant will incorporate Danieli’s patented DanFilters™ technology, developed for deep water filtration at high flow rates. Thanks to its compact layout, efficient space utilization will be achieved at the Dolvi site, while high operational reliability and ease of maintenance are targeted.
The project’s automation infrastructure will be provided by Danieli Automation. Advanced control and monitoring systems aim to ensure the plant operates stably and efficiently.
The project, covering design, engineering, supply, and consultancy services, will be executed entirely with local resources. This approach is expected to support local value creation and technological self-sufficiency. The water treatment plant is scheduled to be commissioned by December 2026.
Globally, Danieli has supplied over 255 water treatment plants to date for direct reduced iron (DRI) plants, mini mills, steelworks, and casting and rolling facilities producing long and flat products.
