US Steel Europe returned to profitability in the fourth quarter of 2025

The US Steel Europe segment, covering United States Steel Corporation's European operations, achieved a profit of 48 million USD in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The segment saw a recovery in operations after reporting a loss in the same period the previous year.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, US Steel Europe reported an EBITDA loss of 35 million USD. The positive result of 48 million USD in EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2025 indicates that the segment has turned its profitability around.

On an annual basis, a similar improvement was also evident. The US Steel Europe segment reported an EBITDA of 156 million USD for the full year of 2025, compared to 71 million USD in 2024. This shows that the segment significantly increased its operational profitability year-over-year.

Meanwhile, the segment's production capacity utilization rate stood at 71% in 2025. This indicates that the majority of the facilities were actively operating throughout the year, maintaining a stable production level.
