The fair, organized for the first time after the fall of the Baath regime, is attended by about 200 Turkish brands as well as Syrian companies.
Metin Gözüaçık, one of the Turkish participants, told AA correspondent that they are hopeful about the future in Syria.
Pointing out the importance of the high participation despite the new conditions in the country, Gözüaçık stated, "Everyone is doing their best, they love our country. The fair is successful."
Noting that investors attach importance to the economic conditions and stability in Syria, Gözüaçık added, “The fact that there is so much participation is quite meaningful despite the current conditions.”
Fuat Egeaslan, who operates in the energy sector, stated: "We are pleased to exhibit our products at this important event organized in the new era of Syria. It will take time for the stones to fall into place in the new Syria, but this time should be utilized by working. We met our beautiful neighbors again."
Egeaslan stated that they continue to transfer their know-how in the energy sector to both Syrian and foreign visitors.
"We are optimistic. We saw unexpected things."
Halit Takva, one of the visitors, emphasized that the organization in Damascus was promising in terms of development compared to the fairs in Gulf countries.
Takva stated, "There was a deficiency in the promotion of the fair. I got the information late and did not see many foreign countries participating. However, we are still optimistic, we saw unexpected things. We hope that the construction and industrial sectors will develop."
Hala al-Khalaf, one of the visitors of the fair, stated that the variety of products exhibited in the fair was remarkable and continued: "It was a good experience for me. Compared to the previous fairs, I saw more new vehicles on the stands. I hope that business intensity will increase in the new Syria."
The International Building-Construction Materials and Energy Fair will end today.
