As of June 18, in Türkiye’s long steel market, downward price movements stood out in the rebar segment on a regional basis, while imported billet prices remained flat. In the wire rod segment, EGE ÇELİK’s price reduction set the tone for the market, whereas profile prices remained unchanged. Market participants note that purchases are largely need-based due to persistently weak demand.
Rebar
In the spot market, prices remained unchanged in Istanbul and Karabük, while İzmir and Payas saw a decline of 300 TL/ton. On the producer side, offers were maintained at around $600/ton in Marmara, $580/ton in İzmir, and $585/ton in the İskenderun region.
