Profile
No significant price changes were observed in the profile market. İstanbul spot profile prices were updated at the same levels, while producers maintained their current pricing policy. The market continued to display a balanced outlook due to limited buying interest.
Overall assessment
As of 17 July, spot rebar prices in the Turkish long steel market posted modest increases, although weak demand conditions largely persisted. The stronger price increase in Karabük compared to other regions stood out, while moderate demand in Payas was supported by truckload-based transactions.
While no major changes were seen in producer offers, the decline in the average offer from Marmara producers to USD 580/mt indicated that the competitive market environment continues. The stability of imported billet prices at USD 495/mt CFR Türkiye, together with unchanged prices in the wire rod and section segments, suggests that the cautious and balanced outlook in the Turkish long steel market remains in place.
