Critical agreement between PASCO and NIOC for domestic seamless pipe production

It has been announced that a significant contract was signed between the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Pasargad Alloy Steel Complex (PASCO) regarding the production and supply of seamless steel pipes. With this development, NIOC has ended its reliance on imports by shifting to domestic production.

According to the agreement, seamless steel pipes meeting the API 5CT-L80-1 standard will be produced by PASCO for the first time in Iran. This progress is considered an important step toward strengthening Iran’s domestic industry and reducing foreign dependency.

The agreement was signed during the “First-Time Manufacturing Agreements” ceremony held on the opening day of the International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran last week. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Presidential Office for Science and Technology, officials from the Ministry of Petroleum, senior executives from NIOC, and industry representatives.

PASCO, which launched the country’s most advanced seamless pipe production line last year with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons, has quickly reached a critical production capacity to meet the strategic needs of the oil sector.

About PASCO (Pasargad Alloy Steel Complex)

Located in Fars Province, Iran, Pasargad Alloy Steel Complex is the largest iron and steel producer in the country’s private sector. The company is working on establishing a comprehensive steel production complex covering the entire steelmaking cycle—from iron ore extraction to the manufacture of various alloy steel rolled products in compliance with international standards.
