Cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egypt in industry and mining

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim al-Harif held a series of meetings with senior Egyptian officials during his official visit to Cairo. During these meetings with Minister of Transport and Industry Kamil al-Wazir, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan al-Khatib, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Bedawi and Central Bank Governor Hassan Abdullah, the issues of deepening cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors, evaluating investment opportunities and strengthening economic relations were discussed.

Al-Harif explained the transformation projects initiated by Saudi Arabia in the fields of industry, mining and exports within the framework of Vision 2030 and drew attention to the facilities provided for investors in this process. During the talks, concrete steps were discussed to establish private sector-oriented partnerships between the two countries, develop financial mechanisms and increase cooperation in mining. In addition, the Egyptian side called for participation in the 4th International Mining Conference to be held in Riyadh in January 2025.

The visit focused on various strategies to further strengthen economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt and deepen mutual cooperation, especially in the industrial and mining sectors, as well as industrial integration, seizing investment opportunities and improving trade relations. Al-Harif pointed out that Saudi Arabia's economic transformation projects in line with Vision 2030 can increase the cooperation potential of the two countries. In particular, they discussed how Saudi Arabia's great economic potential could be utilised in closer cooperation with Egypt. Al-Harif's visit to Egypt is considered as an important step to develop joint projects in the industrial and mining sectors of both countries and to increase cooperation in investment areas.
