According to information obtained by SteelRadar, despite the scrap prices announced at the port of Philadelphia last week, the prices of containerised P&S grade scrap at the port of Los Angeles on the west coast of the US have reached a new high.
Last week, the price of containerised P&S grade scrap delivered at the docks in Philadelphia ranged between $285 and $320 per tonne. However, according to the latest data, the price per tonne of containerised P&S grade scrap delivered at the Los Angeles port is hovering between $355 and $370.
These price differences are due to various factors such as supply and demand balances at different ports, transport costs and supply chain challenges. Experts say that these fluctuations in global trade are causing both buyers and sellers to review their strategies.
