Çolakoğlu commissioned its second re-annealing furnace

Çolakoğlu commissioned its second re-annealing furnace

French machinery manufacturer Fives Group announced that Çolakoğlu Metalurji, which has been growing in the iron and steel industry since 1945, has commissioned its second re-annealing furnace.

This new furnace aims to increase the company's production capacity and meet the increasing demand for steel. In particular, Stein Digit@l Furnace® technology, with a maximum capacity of 450 tonnes per hour, increases production efficiency by offering the capacity to re-anneal up to 40 tonnes of slab.

Sercan Bahadır, production engineer at Çolakoğlu Metalurji's hot strip plant, commented that the main basis for the company's decision to invest in a second furnace was the growth in the market: ‘In addition, some problems experienced in the existing furnace were causing a bottleneck in the company's hot strip plant. The new furnace is considered an important step to overcome this bottleneck and make production processes more efficient. When looking for reheating technology, we aimed for features such as capacity, efficiency and decarbonisation in line with our commitment to meet market demands while prioritising environmental sustainability.’

The installation of Çolakoğlu Metal's first re-annealing furnace was also carried out by Fives Group in 2023.
