Chinese company Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co. (TISCO), part of the largest national steel group Baowu, plans to reorganize some of its stainless steel production capacity in Shanxi Province.
At the Shanxi Taigang plant, the company will shut down and decommission a 90-tonne electric arc furnace with an annual capacity of 700 thousand tons. Similar capacity will be built at Taiyuan Iron and Steel's head office in Blast Furnace No. 4 to replace this unit.
According to the company, the construction of new state-of-the-art smelters and CCMs will allow for optimizing the production structure and expanding the stainless steel product range.
