The blast furnace (BF) capacity utilization rate among 247 Chinese steelmakers decreased by 0.78 percent week on week to 88.26 percent as some steelmakers reduced their output.
The daily hot metal production of the factories decreased by 21,000 tons/day week on week to a total of 2.38 million t/d.
It is stated that the weak demand for steel and the recent cautious market movements continue to put pressure on Chinese steel prices, thus further narrowing the margins of steel mills and even making losses for some mills.
