The agency stated that if the margin of dumping is sufficient, it will continue the process and announce its final decision by July 16, 2025. If the dumping margin is found to be insignificant, the investigation will be terminated and the importers will be refunded the provisional duties or guarantees they paid.
The products subject to the investigation include corrosion-resistant steel sheets classified under a total of 36 Customs Tariff Statistics Position (GTIP) codes starting with 7210, 7212, 7225 and 7226. These HS codes include 7210.30.00.00, 7210.49.00.40, 7210.49.00.50, 7212.20.00.10, 7212.30.00.40, 7225.91.00.30 and 7226.99.00.19.
The CBSA's investigation was initiated following complaints from domestic producers in Canada. The determination of the dumping margin at the end of the investigation will be decisive in determining whether the steel products originating in Türkiye affect the competitive conditions in the Canadian market.
