Call to the international community from Mobarakeh Steel CEO Zarandi

Mobarakeh Steel Company CEO Saeed Zarandi announced that the company, the largest steel producer in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and a cornerstone of sustainable development, was recently subjected to an illegal attack with no humanitarian or industrial justification.

Zarandi stated that the attack took place despite previous statements by the U.S. President that civilian infrastructure in Iran would not be targeted. He emphasized that the strike not only damaged critical infrastructure but also disrupted production and resulted in the death or injury of some employees. The incident caused deep sorrow among the company community and all MSC employees.

The CEO declared that such destructive actions clearly violate internationally recognized principles for the protection of civilian infrastructure. He noted that targeting essential industries like steel threatens the economic and social future of millions of people, weakens the reliability of the global steel supply chain, and contradicts the spirit of international cooperation.

Zarandi made the following calls to international institutions, global steel associations, and industry stakeholders:

▪️ To emphasize the importance of protecting civilian industrial infrastructure on a global scale,

▪️ To draw attention to the devastating effects of such attacks on regional and global economies,

▪️ To propose and develop frameworks that will strengthen industrial security and supply chain resilience,

▪️ To stand by the affected sectors and support recovery efforts.

Zarandi stated that, despite the damage suffered, Mobarakeh Steel will continue its commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection, and international industrial cooperation. He stressed that the company will continue the recovery process with strong determination, relying on its human resources and technical capabilities.

In the statement, thanks were extended to the international industrial community, institutions, and associations that showed solidarity in these difficult times. Zarandi expressed his hope to the international community that such events, which threaten sustainable human development, will never occur again.
