Billet imports decreased by 25% in January-July'21 period

According to the latest data released by Customs, China's billet import volumes decreased by 25% year-on-year to 5.82 million tons in the January-July'21 period, compared to 7.72 million tons in the January-July'20 period.

In addition, imports decreased by 25% from 1.17 million tons to 0.88 million tons in July'21 compared to the previous month. Cuts in steel production and quarantine delays have slowed import bookings.
