Australia launches AD investigation into galvanized steel imports from South Korea and Vietnam

The investigation was officially launched on 19 June 2026 under document number ADN 2026/089.

The products subject to the investigation include flat-rolled steel made of iron or steel, whether alloyed or not, coated or treated with zinc, in coils or sheets, with a thickness ranging from 0.3 millimeters to 3.5 millimeters and in any width.

The coverage also includes products where the zinc content is equal to or greater than 50 percent of the total coating composition, with the remaining portion potentially consisting of other alloying elements. However, aluminum-zinc alloy products in which aluminum constitutes 50 percent or more of the total coating, as well as electro-galvanized, corrugated, or pre-painted specific products, are excluded from the scope of the investigation. The products under review fall under tariff statistical positions 7210.49.00, 7212.30.00, 7225.92.00, and 7226.99.00.

The Commission has set the dumping investigation period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, while the injury analysis period for the domestic industry covers the timeframe starting from 1 January 2022 onwards. According to the investigation timeline, the deadline for submissions and proposed changes to the Mal Control Code (MCC) structure is 27 July 2026.
