ASONEXT has signed an agreement with Primetals Technologies

ASONEXT has announced that it has signed an agreement with Primetals Technologies to refurbish its 40-ton argon-oxygen decarburization (AOD) convertor furnaces located in the city of Brescia.

Primetals Technologies, a company that provides technological solutions and services to iron and steel industry producers, working towards future-oriented, sustainable ways to produce steel, aluminum and other metals, announced that ASONEXT will renovate its convertor furnaces.

ASONEXT has been innovating in its forging technology, not only with the commissioning of its third convertor furnaces in 2006 to increase capacity and ensure excellent product quality, as well as the commissioning of a new 2850-ton forging press installed in 2019. It was announced that Primetals is planning to put the renewed convertor furnaces into operation in 2025.

The renewed convertor furnaces are expected to last longer and have a positive impact on productivity.
