The billet market in Asia remains stagnant as buyers hesitate to make any decisions due to the low prices of ferrous scrap exports.
Currently, billet cost including shipping is around $600 per tonne, down about $10-20 from the previous month.
One deformed rebar producer said that despite receiving requests from potential buyers, many were not willing to pay the import price.
