According to market sources in Jakarta, an Indonesian steel mill has recently secured slab export deals at competitive prices. Earlier this week, the mill reportedly sold 60,000-70,000 tons of slab at USD 435 per ton FOB, with 20,000 tons allocated to the domestic market and the remaining sold to Türkiye.
Comparatively, slab offers from Oman, likely re-labeled Iranian material, are priced at around USD 470 per ton CFR Jakarta, making the Indonesian mill’s price more attractive.
The reports also indicate that the mill’s slab export price to Türkiye is USD 468 per ton CFR, with additional shipments to Türkiye and Latin America booked at prices ranging from USD 435-440 FOB. All shipments are scheduled to be made in November.
