Amur Coal plans to increase coal production at Erkovetsky mine in 2024

By 2023, the coal production volume will increase by 200 thousand tonnes to 2.9 million m3 . Up to this point, the development of the site was carried out only with the help of travelling excavators with large parameters. However, road transport is now also being used to increase production capacity.

The Erkovetsky open-pit mine is located on the territory of three districts of the Amur region: Oktyabrsky, Ivanovsky and Tambovsky. The coal reserves in this deposit are about 3 billion tonnes, which allows gradually increasing the production capacity of both the open-pit mine and the entire company. Universal brown thermal coal of class 2B is mined here, which is used in the energy sector, housing and communal services of the region, in the operation of the Blagoveshchenskaya Thermal Power Plant and the Raichikhinskaya State Regional Power Plant, as well as for stove heating in private households.

Total coal production in the Amur region in 2023 amounted to 4.5 million tonnes, exceeding the previous year's data by almost 18.5%.
