American and British night airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen

These British and American attacks are carried out in response to Yemeni Houthi attacks against commercial ships associated with Israel in the Red Sea. Yemen's Houthis also attacked American military ships and other Western countries. The Yemeni Houthis have stated that the attacks on ships belonging to by Israel or en route to Israeli ports are in response to Israel's attacks on Gaza and the blockade of this area.

President Joe Biden stated that he ordered the strikes “in direct response to unprecedented Houthi attacks against international maritime vessels in the Red Sea.”
