As wildfires continue to rage in the Gaziemir and Menderes districts of İzmir, smoke has filled the skies, prompting the temporary closure of Adnan Menderes Airport.
Due to the prolonged forest fire in Gaziemir, ongoing aerial firefighting operations, and strong winds, all arrivals and departures at İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport have been suspended as of 4:00 PM.
Some flights bound for İzmir have been diverted to other airports. Flights are expected to resume once the fire is brought under control.
