Air pollution is considered the world's biggest environmental health threat and its effects are growing day by day.
In the latest measurements, it was determined that the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased to 420 ppm per million, exceeding the previously recorded 415 ppm rate.
The amount of carbon dioxide measured has reached the highest recorded level since the emergence of humanity.
RISK OF EARLY DEATH
Experts say that 1 billion people worldwide are at risk of premature death due to exposure to air pollution.
Although there has been a downward trend in Particulate Matter 10 (PM10) pollution with the increase in natural gas use since the beginning of the 2000s, the upward trend resumed after 2012.
Underlining that air pollution is at least as risky as an earthquake, the scientific world insists that meteorological conditions affect air quality.
