AEM-Spetsstal, a member of Rosatom's Machine Building Division, successfully manufactured and shipped a large batch of billets for the El Dabaa NPP power unit being built in Egypt to a Russian design.

AEM-Spetsstal has completed 75 % of production of metallurgical billets for the first power unit of El Dabaa NPP. A total of 24 large-sized billets with a total weight of more than 650 tonnes were shipped. These billets are intended for the manufacture of equipment for the first reactor circuit, including the reactor vessel, pressure compensator and main circulation pipeline. The production of metallurgical products from steels with special properties designed for operation in special modes is a key stage in the production cycle of equipment for nuclear power plants.

Another enterprise of Rosatom's Machine-Building division Petrozavodskmash, production of pipes for the reactor hall of the first unit of El Dabaa NPP has started. Specialists have started surfacing pipes for the main circulation pipeline, the total weight of which will be 276 tonnes.

It is expected that full completion of billets production for the El Dabaa NPP project will take place by the end of 2024.
