Italy-based steel producer Acciaierie Venete has announced the launch of its next-generation steel product line, “LUMEN,” made using 100% renewable electricity at its Padova facility. With this new product, the company aims to strongly support its sustainability goals and offer customers a greener solution by reducing its carbon footprint.
The new steel, named “LUMEN,” is produced solely with electricity sourced from renewable resources. According to the company, LUMEN represents a transparent and concrete step toward reducing environmental impact, directly contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The product will be available on demand this year with an additional charge of 13 euros per ton. This pricing ensures the complete elimination of Scope 2 (indirect) emissions generated during the production of LUMEN steel. As a result, the product’s carbon footprint will be further improved while maintaining its current reliability standards.
Acciaierie Venete emphasized that this initiative is fully aligned with the company’s Decarbonization Plan and is specifically designed to meet the rapidly increasing environmental expectations of its customers, partners, and entire supply chain.
The LUMEN brand is also positioned as part of Acciaierie Venete’s broader “Steelnovo” strategy, which integrates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into its business model. Through this approach, the company demonstrates its respect for the environment and the communities it collaborates with.
Customers interested in the new product are advised to contact Acciaierie Venete’s Sales Department for more information.
