The investment implemented in Aliağa, one of İzmir’s major industrial centers, stands out with its integration into the port and industrial corridor. The facility, inaugurated with the participation of Aliağa Mayor Serkan Acar, is expected to make a significant contribution to the region’s foreign trade and logistics operations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nuremma Chairman Erdoğan Erdem stated that the investment is not merely a storage facility, but was designed to serve a broad logistics chain in Aliağa ranging from ports and customs to importers and exporters. Erdem noted that Aliağa’s foreign trade capacity continues to grow and that this expansion has increased the need for strong logistics support facilities.
Erdem stated that Nuremma Warehouse has a total bonded warehouse area of 43,000 square meters, consisting of a 13,000-square-meter indoor area with a height of 10 meters and a 30,000-square-meter outdoor area. He also noted that the facility includes a 3,000-square-meter bonded hazardous materials storage area and a 1,000-square-meter bonded cold storage facility.
Erdem explained that the $35 million investment includes sprinkler systems, siphonic drainage systems, modern shelving systems, loading ramps, and fire protection infrastructure in all halls of the facility. He also stated that a high-security infrastructure with 130 cameras recording 24/7 has been established.
A strong part of the ecosystem
Aegean Customs and Foreign Trade Regional Director Enver Kök stated that the Aliağa Customs Directorate has shown significant development over the past 20 years and noted that the region’s current position is a source of pride.
Nuremma A.Ş. General Coordinator Nurçin Erdem emphasized that every step aimed at strengthening Aliağa’s logistics power creates value for the regional economy, stating: “Every step that strengthens Aliağa’s logistics capacity will create value not only for our companies but also for the regional economy. As Nuremma Warehouse, we want to be a strong part of this ecosystem.”
Company officials stated that the investment will contribute to the regional economy in the long term in parallel with Aliağa’s growing foreign trade potential.
