According to a joint note issued by the Brazilian Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs on November 5, the Brazilian government has decided to reduce import tariffs by 10% for approximately 87% of imported products and services.
There are import tariffs on many flat rolled and long steel products. It was announced by foreign sources that it would be reduced from 12% to 10.8%. It was announced that it will decrease from 14% to 12.6% in stainless steel products, and from 6% to 5.4% in aluminum ingots and billets.
These changes will affect more than 87% of goods subject to the tariff system. The decision will be valid until 31 December 2022.
