The benchmark CME 62% Fe iron ore price increased by 0.5% from $100.27/mt on June 8 to $100.76/mt on June 9, marking a gain of $0.49/mt.
In the United States and Australia, 62% Fe iron ore prices rose by 0.5% from $98.15/mt to $98.65/mt over the same period, recording an increase of $0.50/mt.
Brazilian 65% Fe iron ore prices continued their upward trend, increasing by 0.5% from $118.90/mt on June 8 to $119.50/mt on June 9. This represented a gain of $0.60/mt.
Meanwhile, China’s 62% Fe iron ore price declined by 0.9%, falling from $111/mt to $110/mt. In Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia, 62% Fe iron ore prices decreased from $102/mt to $101/mt, representing a decline of approximately 1%. South Korea’s 61% Fe iron ore price also fell by 1%, from $101/mt to $100/mt.
In India, the 62% Fe iron ore price remained unchanged at $109/mt.
As of June 9, the latest data indicated that high-grade iron ore products maintained their strong performance in the global market. While benchmark CME prices and Atlantic Basin products posted modest gains, Asian markets generally experienced slight downward corrections.
