Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA) has updated its export reference prices for steel products, effective July 22, 2026. The revised values, based on recommendations from the Iranian Steel Producers Association, cover key raw materials, semi-finished and finished steel products used for customs valuation.
Among the raw materials, Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) was set at $235/mt, while Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) reference prices reached $242/mt. Steel scrap was valued at $245/mt, reflecting current export valuation levels.
The updated customs reference prices for flat steel products are as follows:
|

Hot rolled coil (HRC) |
490 (±5%) |
|
Hot rolled plate (<1,850 mm) |

|
Cold rolled sheet |

For long steel products, the customs administration set the reference price for steel wire rod at $540/mt.
The latest customs values indicate that Iranian authorities continue to maintain relatively low export valuation levels for DRI and HBI, supporting the country's competitiveness in international markets. Meanwhile, flat steel products remain valued in a range of $490-730/mt, depending on product type and value-added processing.
These figures do not represent actual export transaction prices but rather the reference values used by customs authorities for customs procedures.
