Imports fell sharply by 54% compared to 88,218 tons in July, according to foreign sources.
Japan remained the largest exporter with 28,722 tons, followed by South Korea and the UK with 5,637 tons and 3,260 tons, respectively.
However, on an annual basis, the Chinese scrap import market has registered an extraordinary increase of around 800%.
