EMSTEEL, one of the leading producers of heavy beams and steel piles in the MENA region, announced that it has adopted Thermo-Mechanical Controlled Processing (TMCP) technology at its Mill No. 4 in Abu Dhabi. The project will be executed on a turnkey basis by Italian engineering firm Danieli.
With this investment, EMSTEEL will be able to produce high-strength steel beams compliant with ASTM A913/A913M Grade 80 and EN 10025-4 S500ML standards. The new beams will feature web heights up to 1036 mm, flange thicknesses up to 77 mm, and linear weights reaching 634 kg/m.
According to tests conducted by Danieli, the new system can reduce water consumption by up to 30%. The entire production process will be controlled by an advanced automation system provided by Danieli Automation, while the on-site construction work will be handled by Danieli Construction.
The company emphasized that these next-generation, high-strength beams will contribute to significant material and welding savings in a wide range of applications, including skyscrapers, bridges, seismic zones, and marine structures.
