UAE-based steel producer EMSTEEL Group and Gulf Cryo, one of the region’s key players with more than 70 years of experience in industrial gases, signed an agreement aimed at carbon reduction in the steel sector.
According to the statement, the partnership aims to establish an integrated value chain ranging from capturing emissions to the reuse and storage of captured carbon in various applications in order to accelerate industrial decarbonization.
Under the agreement, both the development of carbon capture technologies at the source and the implementation of innovative downstream applications for CO₂ utilization are planned. It was also stated that solutions for converting carbon into different industrial processes and safely storing it will be included in the project.
The cooperation is expected to contribute to the United Arab Emirates’ Net Zero 2050 targets and support adaptation to the global transformation in carbon regulations.
