Elmarakbysteel starts production of ribbed wire rod in 6-14 mm range

Egypt-based steel producer Elmarakbysteel has added a new product to its product range in response to customer demand. The company announced the start of production of ribbed wire rod in the range of 6 to 14 mm. This expansion is part of Elmarakbysteel's strategy to address a wider market.

In 2020, Elmarakbysteel commissioned a rolling mill with the latest German technology, which enabled a major increase in production capacity, bringing its annual production capacity to over 400,000 tons. While the rolling mill initially focused on the production of rebar with diameters ranging from 10 to 32 mm, it has recently expanded its product range to rebar with a diameter of 8 mm and increased the length of rebar produced from 12 to 15 meters.

The company has also expanded its wire rod diameters from 5.5 to 12 mm to 14 mm.

Elmarakbysteel's product diversification is not limited to physical products. The company has developed new steel grades that comply with American standards and has received certificates from Germany, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania. It also continues to meet different market needs by introducing coil rebar products in the 6 to 14 mm diameter range.
