EIB reaches highest monthly export figure in its history in July

EIB's previous record was USD 1.743 billion, achieved in June. Thus, EIB succeeded in breaking its monthly export record for the second consecutive month.

Exports of industrial products under the Aegean Exporters' Associations increased by 4%, rising from USD 880 million to USD 911 million, while exports of the agricultural sectors advanced by 5%, from USD 647.5 million to USD 677.5 million. The mining sector recorded a remarkable 47% increase, raising its exports from USD 106.8 million to over USD 157 million.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals maintained the top position

The Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association maintained its leading position with exports of USD 221.5 million in July, while recording exports of USD 1.53 billion in the first seven months of the year and USD 2.603 billion over the last twelve months.

USD 1.5 billion target in mining exports surpassed five months ahead of schedule

The Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association, which became the top export growth performer under EIB with a 47% increase in July, generated USD 157.1 million in foreign currency revenue for Türkiye. Over the last twelve months, EMIB increased its exports by 11% to USD 1.519 billion, reaching its year-end 2026 export target of USD 1.5 billion five months ahead of schedule.

Aegean Region's exports exceeded USD 3 billion

According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the Aegean Region's exports increased by 6% in July, rising from USD 2.838 billion to USD 3.006 billion, surpassing the USD 3 billion threshold.

İzmir accounted for 57% of the Aegean Region's exports with USD 1.714 billion in exports, while the city's two free zones contributed USD 295 million to İzmir's export performance.

Denizli increased its exports by 17%, from USD 416 million to USD 483.8 million, surpassing Manisa to become the second-largest exporting province in the Aegean Region.

Manisa's exports declined by 21%, falling from USD 445.8 million to USD 353.3 million.

Muğla increased its exports by 9%, from USD 127.6 million to USD 139.5 million. Balıkesir's exports declined by 24%, falling from USD 138.5 million to USD 105.7 million. Aydın achieved exports of USD 87.2 million, recording a 7% increase. Afyon's exports rose by 12%, from USD 40.3 million to USD 45.3 million. Kütahya increased its exports by 2%, reaching USD 40.5 million. Uşak recorded exports of USD 36.2 million and achieved the highest export growth rate among the provinces in the Aegean Region with a 23% increase.

Germany regained the top position after two months

Germany ranked first among the countries to which the Aegean Exporters' Associations exported the most, with exports totaling USD 160.3 million. After being surpassed by the United States and Italy in May and by Italy in June, Germany regained the top position after a two-month interval.

The United States shared the lead with demand amounting to USD 138.4 million, while Italy ranked third with exports of USD 109 million.

In July, the Aegean Exporters' Associations achieved triple-digit export growth rates to Libya, India, Lithuania, Syria, Vietnam and Turkmenistan.

Öztürk: "Exports of six of our associations declined"

Muhammet Öztürk, Coordinator Chairman of the Aegean Exporters' Associations, stated that they were pleased to break the monthly export record once again in July following June and to exceed USD 19 billion in annual exports. Öztürk said, "Alongside these achievements, it is disappointing that the export figures of six out of our twelve exporters' associations remained below their July 2025 levels."

Emphasizing that seven of the nine provinces in the Aegean Region increased their exports in July, Öztürk said, "In order for our export growth to reach double-digit levels, the barriers to exporters' access to finance must be removed. We cannot increase our exports with financing costs reaching 45-50%. Agricultural sectors account for 40% of the Aegean Region's exports. The export seasons for many agricultural products are beginning. Our agricultural exporters will purchase the products they will export throughout the year during these months and make their payments. We expect Türk Eximbank to introduce a financing model specifically designed for the agricultural sectors."
