The plant’s compliance with the contractual requirements was officially confirmed with the signing of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) on August 4.
According to Danieli, the project represents a new phase in the long-standing cooperation between TYASA and Danieli aimed at expanding SBQ production and finishing capacity.
The new production complex includes a hot rolling mill equipped with Danieli’s four-pass, four-roll Draw Sizing Danieli (DSD) sizing block, as well as straightening and peeling lines and a complete water treatment plant. Commissioning of these units has been completed and they are now operational.
The facility also includes a new drawing line and a heat treatment line. Installation work on both lines has reached its final stage.
First Hot Billet Rolled on May 25
Cold commissioning of the plant began in early April 2026. During this phase, auxiliary systems, automation sequences and service infrastructure were inspected and tested.
On May 25, TYASA rolled the first hot billet at the facility, launching the hot testing phase. The first bar was processed through the DSD sizing block on July 6. Danieli reported that dimensional accuracy, stability of rolling parameters and equipment reliability were verified at this stage.
Following these activities, the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) was signed on August 4, officially confirming that the plant had met the requirements specified in the contract.
From the early days of operation, the plant began producing saleable SBQ products, including bars and flats.
Performance Tests Begin
Following the completion of the commissioning process, the plant entered the performance testing phase. During this stage, production volumes will be gradually increased while annual production capacity, energy efficiency, operational continuity and metallurgical quality are tested.
Danieli stated that the successful completion of the performance tests will further strengthen the plant’s production capabilities and support TYASA’s position in the SBQ market.
