According to the latest data released by the World Steel Association, Iranian steelmakers produced a total of 27.9 million tons of crude steel from the beginning of 2022 to November, an increase of 8.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
Production in November reached 2.9 million tons, up by 3.9 year on year.
In terms of world rankings, Iran maintained its global position as the world's 10th largest producer of crude steel.
China was the world's largest producer in the 11-month period, with a steel production of 935.1 million tons, down by 1.4%. It was followed by India with 114.2 million tons (6% increase), Japan with 82.3 million tons (6.9% decrease), the United States with 74.4 million tons (5.5% decrease), Russia with 65.9 million tons (7% decrease), South Korea with 60.6 million tons (6.1% decrease), Germany with 34.2 million tons (7.9% decrease) and Turkey with 32.5 million tons (12.3% decrease).
