The Student Rest and Study Areas Renovation Project, planned for students working within the Technology Teams operating under the university, has been completed with the support of Çolakoğlu Metalurji and opened for student use.
Within the scope of the project, a total of 550 square meters of student team workspaces were created on the ground floor of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Kocaeli University’s Faculty of Engineering. In addition, meeting rooms and open study areas were designed for graduate students of the Institute of Natural Sciences. The renovated spaces were designed to strengthen project-based working habits of engineering students, enhance interdisciplinary interaction, and improve their application-oriented technical competencies.
Educational Infrastructure for Sustainable Industry
Through the renovation works, it is aimed to enable students to carry out advanced engineering projects, R&D activities, and team-based production processes under more efficient conditions.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kocaeli University Rector Prof. Dr. Nuh Zafer Cantürk, Çolakoğlu Metalurji General Manager Uğur Dalbeler, Çolakoğlu Metalurji Coordinator Cahit Aşkın, as well as university academics and company representatives.
