The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB) has announced an investigation into the extraordinary price movements recently observed on Borsa Istanbul. In a statement, the CMB and Borsa Istanbul A.Ş. confirmed that all institutional transactions are being closely examined.
Strict Oversight Against Manipulative Activities
The CMB emphasized that all actions and transactions that could disrupt market confidence and stability are being meticulously monitored. The statement also underlined that individuals involved in market-distorting activities will face administrative and criminal sanctions under the Capital Markets Law.
Additionally, misleading reports and speculative news contributing to unusual price and volume fluctuations are under scrutiny. The CMB has initiated immediate legal proceedings against those who create and spread such information.
