Chile, which provides 5 million 200 thousand tons of copper production, which is called the world's red metal production, increased its production by 2.9% to 437,900 tons as of January 2023, in 2022. Codelco, one of the largest mining industries in Chile, increased its annual red metal production by 5.1% to 127 thousand tons. Escondida, the world's largest copper concentrate and copper cathode production, increased its production volume by 15.2% to 93 thousand 300 tons. On the other hand, the Kolahwasi mine had a 16.4% decrease with annual copper production of 42,900 tons in January.
