According to customs statistics, Brazil exported around 50,200 tons of scrap in March this year, growing by 56% compared to the previous month and surging by 126% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the exports to Bangladesh were around 22,500 tons, those to Taiwan were around 8,300 tons, and those to India were around 7,600 tons.
Brazil’s scrap exports in the first three months of this year amounted to approximately 120,600 tons, up by 86% year on year.
In terms of imports, the volume totaled roughly 3,380 tons in March, down by 35% month on month and by 91% year on year. The imports were mainly from Paraguay (around 1,900 tons), Bolivia (around 1,100 tons), and the US (around 140 tons).
