Brazil's pig iron exports decreased by 22.6% in January to about 236,000 tonnes.
Exports to the U.S. amounted to about 204,000 tons, exports to China amounted to about 15,000 tons, and exports to Italy amounted to about 13,000 tons.
Exports from the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo amounted to 155,000 tons, shipments from the states of North Pará and Maranhão amounted to 72,000 tons, and exports from the midwestern state of Mato Grosso do Sul amounted to a total of 10,000 tons.
