According to a statement released by Heraeus Electro-Nite, the system was commissioned following extensive on-site work and is capable of measuring oxygen activity, carbon content, and temperature in approximately one second using a single probe. The company noted that conventional measurement methods typically require at least five seconds, highlighting the new system's significant advantages in terms of speed and operational efficiency.
The statement emphasized that the transformation goes beyond technical performance. A key benefit is that operators no longer need to access the slag door area or other high-risk zones around the furnace, representing a major improvement in workplace safety. With the implementation of the system, employees' exposure to hazardous areas has been significantly reduced, reinforcing the principle of “people first, safety first.”
