Australian mining company Strike Resources has announced that it will ship its first iron ore shipment from its Apurimac mine in Peru.
It will take about 32 days to ship about 35,000 tons of high quality premium bulk direct shipment ore to China.
Strike Resource's Apurimac mine is located in the southern highlands of Peru and has 269.4 million tons of minerals conforming to the Australasian Code for Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC Code) for Reporting of Exploration Results, including 142.2 million tons of indicative sources of iron. . 127.2 million tons of extracted resource with 57.8% content and 56.7% iron content.
It can also be mined in an open pit, with an annual output of iron ore concentrate of up to 20 million tons and an annual processing volume of 20-27 million tons.
