ArcelorMittal has announced that it will close one of its blast furnaces at its Fos-sur-Mer iron and steel plant in France in December and halve its production capacities.
ArcelorMittal division manager Bruno Ribot stated that the reasons for the temporary shutdown of the furnace are low demand for steel, higher energy prices and an increase in imports of rolled products.
