According to official data, ArcelorMittal's joint venture with Nippon Steel raised flat steel prices by $100 per short tonne. The base price of the hot-rolled coil was $1,000 per tonne. US Steel increased prices by $100 per tonne.
The Calvert plant reported that orders for cold-rolled coils and hot-dip galvanized coils for April must be placed no later than the business close on March 1.
In Canada, spot prices for ArcelorMittals Dofasco's plant in Ontario increased by 140 C$/ton ($103) to 1340 C$/ton for hot-rolled coil and 1600 C$/ton for cold-rolled and hot-dip galvanized steel. Prices was $1610/ton for 1 C iron-zinc rolled products (galvanized).
