ArcelorMittal expands Temirtau sheet rolling mill to record capacity

Thanks to modernisation, ArcelorMittal Temirtau Kazakh Iron and Steel Plant has increased the production capacity of its No. 1 sheet rolling mill to 42,000 tonnes per month. This is the highest figure in the last ten years.

The No. 1 sheet rolling mill produces hot-rolled steel in coils. Previously, the plant's capacity allowed to produce up to 30 thousand tonnes of products per month.

In the spring, the efficiency of the sheet cutting line was also increased. Two overhead cranes were installed at the sheet processing plant, and in the near future a new cutting unit will be installed in the same place.

Earlier, Arcelor Mittal Temirtau completed a major overhaul of continuous casting machine (CCM) No. 1 and put it back into operation.
