Luxembourg-based stainless steel producer Aperam has increased its alloy surcharge for European austenitic flat stainless steel products by EUR 100/ton for January.
The surcharge for 304 (1,4301) increased from 2,361 EUR/tn in December to 2,427 EUR/t; For 316, it rose to EUR 3,643/t from EUR 3,563/t in the previous month. The 309S used in high temperature corrosion resistance applications was held unchanged at 3,267 EUR/tonne. The price of ferritic stainless steel 409 fell to EUR 922/t from EUR 1,002/t last month.
