Anti-dumping decision from Thailand to China, South Korea and the EU

Thailand has decided to tighten anti-dumping (AD) measures on tin-free steel products imported from China, South Korea and the European Union.

Anti-dumping decision from Thailand to China, South Korea and the EU

This decision, announced by Thailand's Dumping and Subsidy Committee, aims to protect the domestic steel industry from unfair competition.

With this re-implementation, AD duties will be re-applied to tin-free-steel imports from these countries. AD tax rates for China range from 4.53% to 24.73%, for South Korea from 3.95% to 17.06%, and for the EU it is a flat rate of 18.52%. These taxes are based on the cost, insurance and freight (CIF) prices of imported steel.

Thailand Customs Tariff Codes of affected products are 7210.50.00.021, 7210.50.00.022, 7210.50.00.023, 7210.50.00.024, 7210.50.00.025, 7210.50.00.026, 7210.50.00.0 29 and is classified under 7210.50.00.090.

This decision by the Thai authorities underscores their commitment to protecting the domestic steel industry from unfair trade practices. The reimposition of AD duties aims to increase the competitive advantage for Thai steel producers and enable them to compete effectively in the local market.
